Day 1: Arrive Delhi – Welcome to Capital City of India

New Delhi, Indira Gandhi International Airport departure. Go to your hotel and prepare yourself to experience the beauty of the country you just landed.

More than 1000 years as the capital of empires make Delhi so romantic and royal as the Mughals, so colonial and modern.

Heritage Restaurants or Optional Evening: Go on a stroll in the Connaught Place or Heritage restaurant.

Day 2: Visiting Delhi: The Mughal Quality and the Modern India

Raj Ghat – A peaceful memorial of Mohandas Gandhi.

  • Jama Masjid: An important religious spot and definitely one of the tourist hotspots of Delhi.
    Chandni Chowk Rickshaw Ride: The city center Chandni Chowk is known to provide the people with a rickshaw ride through crowded markets and narrow lanes that give the aroma of spices along with that of charms of bygone generations.
    Qutub Minar: It is the world heritage site and a victorious tower constructed in the 12 th century.
    Lotus Temple: This is a holy temple of worship of Bah a i with flower shape covering it.

Day 3: Agra(Approx.4 hrs)

We are on Yamuna expressway driving to Agra.

Why Agra:

The capital of Mughal Empire is Agar and it is so well known not only due to such architectural miracles but also due to Taj Mahal.

Visit:

  • Taj Mahal: The monument of eternal love constructed by Empreror Shah Jahan in memory of Mumtaz Mahal which is currently one of the seven wonders on the earth..
  • Agra: Fort This is a monstrosity that was composed of red sandstone and in reality, the principal abode of the Mughal emperors.
  • Mehtab Bagh (optional): Glimpse the sight of the sunset view on the other side of Yamuna river seeing the Taj.

Day 4: Agra to Jaipur via Fatehpur Sikri (Approximately 5 hours)

Fatehpur Sikri Visit:

A wonderful architecture was combined of a Buland Darwaza, Jama Mosque, and the tomb of Salim Chishti which was the construction of the deserted capital of a 16 th century emperor named Akbar.

Day 5: Jaipur Sight – seeing – Royal Rajasthan in Pink

Why Jaipur:

Each and everything regarding the city of Jaipur is so vibrant, beginning from its bazaars to its fortresses and also the buildings itself.

  • Amber Fort: If you wish to witness a location where two disparate architectures, i.e., Mughal and Rajput, have merged into a single one, then go to Amber Fort.
  • City palace: This is the residence of the royal family which still remains there and also has got a museum where they can get to see arts, weapons and royal costumes.
  • Jantar Mantar: Possibly the most popular one among the five by the king of Jaipur for a passion for astronomy.
  • Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds): The most common feature of this palace is its drawing so that it could allow the royal ladies to see what happens on the street but could not see being seen by no one.

Day 6: Chennai – Jaipur (By flight)

Take a flight to Jaipur to watch the aeroplane and visit the state capital, Chennai (Madras) in the state of Tamil Nadu.

It is one of the operational sea ports cities that forms a favorite tourist attraction to classical music, Bharatanatyam dance, ancient colonial churches and old temples.

Day 7: Chennai – Mahabalipuram (Approximately 1.5hrs)

Morning Chennai: Beautiful visit:

  • Kapaleeshwarar Temple: the excellent example of the Tamil architecture.
  • Marina Beach: longest City Beach across the world.
  • St. Thomas Cathedral Basilica: The church was built during the colonist period.

Why Mahabalipuram:

It is a historic port city and is high-reputed and has the 7 th -8 th century Pallava temples and sculpture in rock-cut temples form.

  • Shore Temple: Temple en-suite that stretches through the banks of the sea in recognition of Shiva and Vishnu.
  • Five rathas: named after the Pandavas are monolith rock-cut chariots.

Day 8: From Mahabalipuram to Pondicherry (Approx. 2 hrs)

Having been raised in a family as a chauffeur to Pondicherry, a former colony of France and which had a European flavour to it.

What is Special in Pondicherry:

European cafes, French bistros, religious moods and quiet beaches.

Visit:

  • Aurobindo Ashram: it is a meditation center which advertises yoga meditation.
  • Auroville (active option): A township which promotes the unity of humans.
  • French Quarter: Your eyes will be delighted to see the the mustard and brick coloured houses and antique shops.
  • The Promenade Beach: The most wonderful walk around Promenade during sun set

Day 9: Pondicherry – Tanjore via Trichy (Approx. 6 hrs)

En route halt at Trichy (Tiruchirappalli):

  • Rock Fort Temple: is the temple and fort that took its shape in the 7 th century and is located on the top of an outcrop of rock on the 273 steps.
  • Srirangam Temple: The temple is claimed to be one of the biggest functioning hindu temple in the entire universe.

Next head to Tanjore (Thanjavur) which is famous not only as the capital of classical music but also for South Indian temples.

See:

  • Brihadeeswarar temple: The 11 century built by Chola emperors and provided as the UNESCO World Heritage site; one among the largest and most decorative temples in India.

Day 10: Tanjore to Madurai (Approx. 4hrs)

Visit Madurai – the centre of faith in Tamil Nadu.

Why Madurai:

Madurai, contains the Meenakshi Temple, one of the most celebrated temples of Southern half of the nation.

  • Meenakshi Temple: A hideous temple caked in the color of rainbow and lovely gopurams and thousands on thousands of carved pillars and colorful rituals.

  • Gandhi memorial museum: It shows life and struggle of Gandhi Mahatma.

  • Optional: Attend the evening Aarti (ceremony) of the temple.

Day 11: Madurai to Thekkady (Around 4hrs)

Fly to green Kerala and arrive at Thekkady.

 It has Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary, spices plantation and eco-tourism.

Activities:

  • Spice Plantation Tour: Walk to the cardamom, pepper and cinnamon fields.
  • Boat Safari: Watch wild animals, elephants, deer and birds and witness the wild elephant taking a drink of water just like us human beings at Periyar lake which is a lake surrounded with a forest.

Day-12: Thekkady Alleppey (Approx. 4.5 hrs)

Motor AllepPey the Venice of the East.

Experience:

Enjoy an overnight cruise on Kerala backwaters in a privately owned and locally constructed houseboat with a set of canals, rice and coconut groves. Live a life of leisure in the village by taking meals on the cruise, looking into serene landscapes.

 

Day 13: Alleppey to Cochin ( Approx 1.5 hrs)

Disembark a boat and then make a driving tour to Cochin (Kochi), a very cosmopolitan port city.

Tourist in fort cochin:

  • Chinese fishing nets: it is one of the oldest techniques, which is adopted in fishing.
  • St.Francis Church: It is the first church in India and also constructed by Europeans.
  • Mattancherry Palace: it is situated in Kerala and here the murals and the royal images are part of the Dutch Palace.

Day 14: Departure to Cochin

You will also have arrangements after your breakfast and will be taken to Cochin International Airport to have a completion of the remaining journey with the memorable images of South Indian cultural and natural beauty and royal heredity of North India.
